He began his career in Medical Imaging by joining the Medical Imaging Lab of the Gregorio Marañon Hospital to help in the development of a small-animal Positron Emission Tomography (PET) system for small-animal imaging.
From that time, Eduardo Lage has focused his career on exploring low-cost yet high-performance approaches for small-animal molecular imaging. Lage has participated in the design and development of various preclinical scanners (PET, SPECT, CT and multimodality systems) which have been commercialized by several companies such as SEDECAL S.A. (Madrid) and General Electric (USA). In summary, Dr. Lage´s work in the field of biomedical imaging has not only been focused on scientific achievements, but has also been strongly directed by the idea of performing technology transfer to the industry and to the design of high-quality and user-friendly systems.
Of the M+Visión Faculty, Eduardo says, “I’m impressed by the way the Faculty focus. They’re interested and get to the point, and they know exactly what are the important things for a project. They want to know the kind of impact the project will have, and they ask us the appropriate questions.”
