Shonda Gaylord
Shonda Gaylord is currently a MERGE-ID (Medically-oriented Research in Graduate Education) post-doctoral trainee at Tufts Medical Center working towards the development of a point-of-care diagnostic for the detection of cryptosporidiosis in resource-limited settings. Her interdisciplinary graduate work involved diagnostic development for the early detection of disease states to include: dengue infection, thromboembolic disease and ricin intoxication. She has conducted international global health work on childhood malnutrition at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India as part of a Global Health Innovation Fogarty Fellowship. She has a passion for working with marginalized populations and is currently developing a non-profit to combat food insecurity in DC food deserts in low-income communities.
