Mohammed Shabab

Mohammed Shabab is a biochemist with a major interest in the peptide mediated signaling in biotic interactions and the development of novel antimicrobial peptides as antibiotics for intracellular pathogens. Currently working as a Research Scientist in the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge. Prior joining to MIT, he was a Humboldt Fellow at the Max-Plank Institute of Chemical Ecology, Germany. He received a PhD in Biochemistry from National Chemical Laboratory. In addition to signaling, he is working on a wearable device for early detection of Pneumonia in children. This device can accurately predict Pneumonia by using standard algorithms based on key symptoms of the disease.
