Sylvia Guillory is a PhD candidate at the University of Massachusetts Boston and is currently working with Dr. Zsuzsa Kaldy in the Developmental and Brain Sciences program. Her research has focused on understanding information processing that occurs in working memory, the role that selective attention plays in this process during infancy and childhood, and how these interactions affect the quantity and quality of memory representations. Studying the relationship between working memory, attention, and learning can provide insights into the brain development of typical and atypical populations. Before starting her PhD she completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA double majoring in applied mathematics and cognitive science with a specialization in computing and earned an MSc in cognitive science from the University of Edinburgh.
